German University
Universities in Germany are divided into public and private, including three types of universities:
-
University (Universität)
-
University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule)
-
College of Art, Film and Music (Kunst-, Film- und Musikschulen)
Universität, Uni
It teaches theory and focuses on academic research, and is suitable for students who plan to pursue a master's or doctoral degree. According to the classification of professional disciplines, it can also be divided into: Polytechnic University (Technische Universität, TU) or Medical University (Universitätsklinikum), etc.
University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule: FH)
Universities of applied sciences generally have only a few majors, but they are extremely outstanding. Teaching mainly provides practical knowledge training, and the courses are tailored to meet professional needs, and most require internships. I hope to cultivate the ability to solve practical problems in industry. Like a comprehensive university, it offers Bachelor and Master courses.
School of Art, Film and Music (Kunst-, Film-und Musikhochschulen)
It specializes in providing professional courses in the field of art, such as painting, design, visual arts, drama, music and other professional departments. Arts colleges with media disciplines offer subjects such as directing, photography, screenwriting, and film or television production. The admission test emphasizes students' ability to demonstrate talents (such as musical performance). Students who do not have a formal university entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, HZB) from a German university can still try to apply to a German university if they are outstanding in certain talents. Be aware that most art, film and music schools teach in German.
